Your Mission:
As our EDU Inside Sales Representative, you will play a key role in a high-performing EDU sales team to generate revenue results. You will own the sales cycle (call to close) for both outbound prospecting and inbound leads in your designated territory. This includes prospecting, identifying decision makers/influencers, presenting MERGE value propositions, conducting remote product demonstrations, closing sales, expanding up-sell/cross-sell opportunities, renewing subscription revenue, timely activity entry into CRM and reporting sales activity and results. We’re looking for a high energy, motivated “hunter” with an ability to build trust with educators, demonstrate consultative selling skills, and a demonstrated track record of delivering revenue results.


Qualified Candidates will have:

  • 3+ years inside education sales experience

  • Proven history of exceeding sales quotas

  • A highly consultative sales background as a trusted advisor

  • Deep knowledge of selling into the K12 education market, including contract processes and seasonal buying cycles

  • Experience and credibility selling to principals, technology coordinators, instructional technologists and other K12 decision makers at both a site and district level

  • Skills at translating technology into educator benefits to engage in value-based conversations

  • Disciplined prospecting skills who can continuously build a pipeline and network through social media to connect with key decision makers

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to clearly articulate the values and benefits of the company and our products

  • Experience in high-growth companies where all hands are on deck and many hats are worn

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Efficient and organized, with attention to detail

Typical Duties Include:

  • Develop prospecting plans including setting sales goals, activities and reporting status/results

  • Conduct outbound prospecting to develop new business, respond to RFPs, and develop proposals for presentation to schools

  • Responding to inbound sales leads to qualify them and pursue revenue opportunities

  • Present effective product demonstrations via video conference or live stream, including supporting professional development and/or virtual workshops or events

  • Make regular contact with prospective school administrators, technical contacts, teachers and related decision makers to become a trusted advisor for AR/VR classroom solutions and keep the MERGE brand top-of-mind

  • Obtain purchase orders and related customer information needed to facilitate product payment and shipment

  • Coordinate with internal staff to facilitate MERGE becoming an approved vendor with schools

  • Ensure sales activity and customer transaction data is entered into CRM on a timely basis

  • Report sales activity and results on a regular basis to executive management


Accountabilities/KPIs:

  • Effectively manage CRM - ensure sales emails, calls and meetings are updated in CRM within 24 hours of their occurence.

  • Lead Response - contact inbound sales leads and record status in CRM within 24 hours.

  • Sales Activity - conduct 100 inbound/outbound sales conversations per week.

  • Sales Results - close $250,000 in revenue within the first 12 months.

  • Measure and Report - report weekly sales activity (goals vs. results), sales pipeline (number of deals by stage, revenue by stage, conversion by deal stage, product mix) and closed sales (number of deals, average revenue/margin, total revenue/margin, product mix, win/loss).
